The artists developed layers of imagery in glass block that references Downtown’s street grid, geography, and city life.  Neon lines, some relating to the patterns on the block, some to the colors on the walls, are used to create a play of light between the walls and the glass block.

Kathleen Mulcahy (b. 1950) is a glass and mixed media artist. She is the founder of the Pittsburgh Glass Center. She lives and works in Oakdale, PA, with her partner Ron Desmett.

Ron Desmett (b. 1948) is a glass and mixed media artist. He received his MFA from Carnegie Mellon University.
